People’s Park Centre is a commercial property, residential apartment, and shopping centre in the heart of Chinatown. It is believed to be Singapore’s first shopping centre.
Completed in 1976, People’s Park Centre is a mixed-development shopping centre featuring four floors for retail shopping, and a pair of towers for office space and residential purposes. Several retailers selling Chinese handicrafts and Chinese-oriented travel agencies are housed by the Centre.
There are a few amenities located near to the People’s Park Centre, like the Cold Storage, China Square, NTUC Fairprice, Coleurs Pte Ltd, Central Mall, and China Square Central for grocery, retail shopping and banking needs. Several good eateries such as Kopitiam (South Bridge Court), Morning Star Food Court, and 189 New Bridge Road are also located nearby.

The bulk of Singapore’s law firms is housed in the main tower reaching 13 floors, due to its proximity to the Singapore subordinate court. The smaller tower serves as the residential space and offices linked via the fifth floor.
Not far away from People’s Park Centre are art galleries and museums- Asian Civilizations Museum and Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall.
